The body is variegated as stone, but it is not stone. The body is fluent as water, but it is not water.
The body is porous as air, but it is not air.
The body is lucent as flame, but it is not flame.
The body is capacious as darkness, but it is not darkness.
When stone, water, air, flame, and darkness touch the body,
they draw back, surprised, exclaiming,
"So this is flesh!"--for to the material world,
flesh is famous and mythical, scarcely to be believed.
